This can happen when you attempt to upgrade the firmware on the phone (something we do rather often with Apples constant updates).
You’ll see a graphic on the screen that is the USB connector icon and the iTunes icon. Essentially, the device enters a mode called “Recovery Mode”. So I did a bit of research and found some options. I’ve had my phone black out, shut off, brighten and darken, crack, make noises, not make noise at all and announce cryptic messages on the push notifications – but I’ve never had it go into recovery mode, ironically. I thought I’ve seen it all when it comes to the iPhone.
